The Signing Ceremony of General Agreement for USD 150 Million Green Untied Loan Between JBIC and VPBANK

On the morning of October 9, 2024, Vietnam Prosperity Joint-Stock Commercial Bank (VPBank) and the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) officially signed a credit agreement worth 150 million USD to finance renewable energy and power transmission projects in Vietnam.

The signing ceremony was attended by the Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Ito Naoki; the Senior Managing Director of JBIC, Mr. Ogawa Kazunori; the CEO of VPBank, Mr. Nguyen Duc Vinh; and many other leaders from both organizations.

According to VPBank, the 150 million USD medium- and long-term loan granted by JBIC to VPBank is expected to be disbursed to corporate clients and projects involved in power grid development and renewable energy businesses, contributing positively to environmental protection across various localities in the country.

The collaboration between VPBank and JBIC marks an important milestone, reaffirming the trust of international financial institutions in the operations of domestic banks in general and VPBank in particular. Additionally, the partnership between the two financial institutions strengthens the close relationship between Vietnam and Japan in various fields, including economy, finance, investment, and industry.
