On January 8, 2025, the Seminar on Urban Development according to the TOD model took place at the Melia Hotel – Hanoi, organized by the Embassy of the UK and Northern Ireland in coordination with the Hanoi Urban Railway Management Board. This is part of the Green Infrastructure and Cities Program, an initiative of the UK to support the development of sustainable public transport and smart cities.

The TOD model is considered an optimal solution to integrate public transport with urban planning, both reducing congestion, protecting the environment and creating momentum for socio-economic development. With experience from the UK, experts will support Hanoi in researching and developing a modern and sustainable urban railway system.
